This spirited workshop, one of the latest offerings in the Merrithew® Athletic Conditioning Track, includes a dynamic warm up designed specifically to prepare the mind and body for golf. It can be used for warming up on the range or at home before heading out to the course. Both the warm up and the mat-based workout that follows, prepare the body physically and neuro-muscularly to take on the challenges of the sport and improve performance while avoiding injury. Ideal for off-season training, this program helps maintain physical conditioning when time on the course decreases. The specific exercises chosen build on the dynamic movements in the warm up, increasing the essential body awareness needed to increase mobility with stability and strength imperative for a successful golf game.
Note: this workshop requires a Maple Pole, golf club or other long implement.

This mindful movement workout, developed by the Merrithew® team, is based on the foundation that proper breathing is the key to a healthy, nourished and vibrant body. We use the breath to activate movement from the inside-out so we can concentrate on optimizing the core connection and mobility of the spine, hips and shoulder girdle. The exercises presented incorporate the Mini Stability Ball™ and aim to improve posture, relieve the body of negative tension, and strengthen the core.
Note: this workshop requires a 7.5” Mini Stability Ball

In order to be successful teachers, Pilates Instructors need a deep awareness of how their own body works and feels. Every individual develops a unique style of movement that is used in everyday activities. These distinct patterns may not be the most efficient. The use of self-exploration and observation can bring awareness to how we move and the characteristics of these movements known as movement qualities. The resultant awareness can facilitate more efficient and effective exercise choices for future programming for clients and self. In addition, this standing warm up can be used to facilitate self‐exploration of common movement patterns in combination with the STOTT PILATES Principles, focusing on movement qualities that stimulate the fascial system.
Note: this workshop requires no equipment!
